Functional flours for petfood and feed

PETFLOUR

The past decade has seen a strong growth in the popularity of snacks for dogs and other pets, with a large variety of new offerings. Food engineers are searching for natural binding agents with high functionality for making a tough but chewable product. Moisture and softeners like glycerine are bound in the formulation using PetFlour Wheat/Rice/Corn. Precooking gives these types of flour high instant binding properties. Aside from this functionality, the PetFlour products are easily digested by the animals.

We have been producing for the international market – including yours – for decades. As a result, you enjoy the advantage of competitive pricing and of our many years of product and market knowledge. Our quality pays off.

The special PetFlour ingredients are produced at Limagrain Ingredients and are composed of a dried, heat treated flour. Drying the flour ensures enzyme inactivation and sanitation. In addition, the adaptable drying process makes it possible for the humidity in the flour to be regulated. When extruding the flour the carbohydrate granules are drawn out of their original structure. This ensures that the carbohydrate can swell in cold water and that the flour can also disperse in cold water.

UNIFLOUR: SPLENDID MULTIFUNCTIONAL

The UniFlour product line of natural functional flour is based on grains, seeds and legumes, and is available in different granulations with narrowly defined particle size distributions. UniFlour products are widely used as a replacement ingredient for calf milk. UniFlour products are also excellent for the production of pet food treats and for pressed pellets for the cattle industry. This is because of the excellent pressing properties of UniFlour when using extrusion technology.

We have been internationally supplying your market for decades. You benefit not only from the market price, but also from our experienced product and market knowledge. Our quality pays off.

TEXTURIZERS

The texturizers are usually wheat-based but can also be based on other cereals or legumes, such as peas, for example.

The special UniFlour ingredients made by Limagrain Ingredients are composed of a dried, heat-treated flour. Drying of the flour ensures enzyme inactivation and sanitation. In addition, the moisture content of the flour can be regulated by drying the flour until the desired moisture content is achieved. When the flour is extruded, the starch granules are pulled from their original structure. This ensures that the starch can swell in cold water and the flour also is dispersible in cold water.
